Tourism Relief Fund

The Government of Canada is contributing $500,000 through Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) under the Tourism Relief Fund to enhance snowmobile trails in Saskatchewan.
Funding from the Tourism Relief Fund will be used to enhance the provincial trail system through new snowmobile trail development, warm-up shelter construction and upgrades, trail grooming equipment and trail signage.
The Tourism Relief Fund empowers tourism businesses to create new or enhance existing tourism experiences and products to attract local and domestic visitors. Tourism Relief Funding focuses on projects that position communities to take advantage of post-pandemic opportunities, as well as supporting destination development prospects in-line with objectives set out in the Federal Tourism Growth Strategy.
âThrough this funding Saskatchewan Snowmobile Associationâs member clubs will undertake projects that will have a significant and long-lasting impact on the provincial trail systemâ, said Leah Switzer, Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association. âThese projects will enhance the winter tourism experience across the province.Â
“Snowmobiling is not only a great Canadian winter activity and tourism experience, itâs also a way of life for many communities across the country,â said Dan Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan. âOur government is supporting the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association in further developing its trail system, so residents can take full advantage of our Winter season, attracting more visitors and growing the economy.”
